A Data Engineer is sought to drive impactful data initiatives within a high performing organisation. The Data Engineer will spearhead data strategies and foster innovation across the operations. The organisation is a premier provider of essential products and services across Europe, dedicated to improving quality and reliability in the sector. In this role, the data engineer will be pivotal in designing and executing solutions for the entire data lifecycle, including data acquisition, storage, modeling, transfer, hosting, visualisation, analysis, and consumption. The Data Engineer will also be responsible for guiding and developing the skills of team members. Key Responsibilities: Architect and implement comprehensive data pipelines for efficient data acquisition, storage, processing, and interface creation. Generate both machine-readable interfaces and user-friendly data products, encompassing standard and custom reports. Ensure the maintenance and optimisation of data infrastructure, including the management of data flows and external tables. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver customized data solutions. Act as a technical lead and architect, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of data systems. Promote best practices and principles of data quality throughout the organisation. Required Skills and Experience: Advanced proficiency in MS SQL Extensive experience with ETL techniques, data warehouse design, and data visualisation Command of Microsoft tools such as Fabric, Data Factory, and Power BI Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills Self-motivated, organized, and proactive with a commitment to continuous learning Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or PowerShell This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and innovate within a forward-thinking organisation committed to excellence in data management and analysis.
