Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a Runcorn-based primary school as they are looking to recruiting an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to support a student in their EYFS class on a 1:1 basis. This pupil has undiagnosed SEN and is showing early signs of ADHD and ASC. This is a long-term temporary contract required due to the school having additional resource for SEN support.

Your new role
In your new role as a 1:1 EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis in the EYFS/reception class. You will be this pupils' main point of contact throughout the school day, meeting them at the school gate and walking them back to their parents/guardian at the end of the day. You will encourage their learning and development by supervising during learn through play sessions, holding speech and language sessions, and generally encouraging their input. This pupil is showing early signs of SEN (ASD and ADHD), so you will be required to monitor their behaviours closely, liaising with the SENCo and class teacher on said behaviours, and using positive behaviour promotion.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with children and young people in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Previous experience working with SEN
  • Experience with EYFS/FS/Reception framework
  • An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Children's Care, Learning and Development is advantageous

What you'll get in return
If you are successful with your application, you will receive the full support, dedication and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of benefits, which include:

  • Free training
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Long-term contract
  • Pension scheme
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
  • Refer a Friend scheme
