An opportunity has arisen for a Regional HR Manager to join us on a full time, permanent contract to cover Midlands and the North West, to provide HR support and guidance to nominated sites within our Bulk business unit. Providing a range of people related matters, including first line advice, redundancy and TUPE, relevant consultation processes and employee relations including Trade Union relationships.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £46,000 per annum plus company car/car allowance. We also a whole host of fantastic benefits (see below).

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Support, coach and advise key stakeholders on all employee relations issues including discipline, grievance, absence management and performance improvement
  • Deal with Trade Union representatives where appropriate (consultations, pay negotiations, etc)
  • Co-ordinate and assist the HR activity required to ensure that consultations in relation change programmes such as TUPE, restructures and redundancy are carried out in line with statutory and company requirements
  • Coach and support the development of site management teams in HR related issues across the business unit
  • Work with site management teams to ensure that D&I, Wellbeing and engagement activities are proactively promoted
  • Contribute to the effective recruitment, selection and induction processes
  • Ensure company standards and policies are implemented on a consistent basis
  • Provide input into HR projects and changes in HR policy and practice

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Strong experience of HR policy and practice, particularly around disciplinary, grievance, redundancies, restructures and TUPE situations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – able to build relationships quickly, engage and influence key stakeholders 
  • Experience gained in a multi –site environment
  • Experience of trade union negotiations
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law
  • Experience of change management programmes in a similar HR advisory and/or management role
  • Be a self-starter, able to work on own initiative and be a team player
  • CIPD qualified or working towards
  • Experience working in FMCG/Logistics/Retail environment (desirable)
