Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting one of our partnership schools as they are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced teaching assistant for the next academic year. In this role you will be supporting a student with SEN on a 1:1 basis.Your new roleIn your new role as an SEN Teaching Assistant within this school you will be supporting a pupil in Year 2 on a 1:1 basis. You will be this pupils main point of contact throughout the school day, meeting them at the school gate, walking them back to their parents/guardian, and supporting them throughout the school day. You will advocate for them as required and promote their engagement during lessons by using a myriad of behaviour management techniques including distraction, de-escalation, playing games to keep focus, and taking them out of the class as required to burn off steam. This pupil has an EHCP, you will regularly liaise with the SENCO and parents/guardians on their progress.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as 40 days referenceable experience working with children and young people in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Previous experience working with SEN
  • A calm and patient approach
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
