Credit Controller - Standalone

Veracious Talent Partners are exclusively partnering with a well-established manufacturing business in Wellingborough that’s looking for a proactive and confident Credit Controller to manage their credit control process end-to-end. This is a standalone role with full responsibility for the function — perfect for someone who enjoys autonomy, but also values being part of a wider team.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Managing the full credit control process, from setting up new accounts to chasing overdue payments

  • Building strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payments and resolve queries professionally

  • Allocating payments, reconciling accounts, and preparing aged debt reports

  • Working closely with the Finance Controller to monitor cash flow and manage risk

  • Liaising with internal departments to resolve invoice and delivery issues efficiently

  • Ensuring accurate records are maintained and credit limits reviewed regularly

What we’re looking for:
  • Previous experience in a standalone or sole-charge credit control role

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Comfortable managing workload independently and taking ownership of outcomes

  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with financial/ERP systems

  • Experience in a manufacturing or product-based business is desirable but not essential
