To support our continued growth, we are currently seeking Production Operative to join our market-leading manufacturing company who truly values its employees. Offering £11.70 per hour to start, with potential earnings increasing up to £13.61 on successful completion of a six-month probation on a full-time, permanent basis.

Based in Ruthin, Denbighshire, Newbridge Energy manufacture and supply Blazers Premium wood fuels which are all ENplus®, BSL, Woodsure and HETAS certified. We only manufacture our Premium pellets and market leading fuel logs from 100% virgin British wood residue from sawmill activity. Here at Newbridge, we have a passion for producing sustainable and renewable energy using biomass Combined Heat and Power.

About the Production Operative role:

The chosen candidate will operate an automated bag filling line, production press/line and FLT in the production of nationally recognised products, ensuring that customers are supplied within agreed delivery times and production is working safely as the lowest cost producer, with the highest quality output while ensuring that objectives are met.

Production Operative Key Responsibilities:

As a member of the team, training and development opportunities will be provided and you will be responsible for a range of duties including, although not limited to:

  • Running an automated bag filling machine with automated conveying and robotic bag stacking
  • Setting a production press and line to operate efficiently
  • Packing a nationally recognised product for sale to the public and trade sectors, ensuring our customers receive products packaged to a high standard
  • Operate a FLT in line with training programme, completing vehicle safety checks at the beginning and end of each shift and sanitise the cab regularly throughout the shift
  • Involved in problem solving and fault diagnosis of line issues
  • Work with team members to maximise productivity and efficiency giving suggestions for any improvements required
  • Accurate completion of documentation
  • Conducting and recording product quality control measures
  • Always maintain a high level of safety awareness
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
  • Wearing the appropriate and correct PPE for the task
  • Complete any other reasonable tasks or requests as required.

Production Operative Requirements:

  • A working knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • Good literacy, numeracy and paperwork skills
  • A FLT licence is desirable, but not essential as training can be provided to the right candidate
  • An IOSH Working Safety qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
  • Excellent housekeeping and quality standards
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise and work under pressure
  • Able to work independently, using own initiative and as part of a team
  • A positive disposition and a can-do attitude.

Hours: Full-time

4-on 4-off shifts (4 days 06:00 -18:00, 4 off, 4 nights 18:00-06:00, 4 off)
