FPGA Design Engineer – £50-65K - Essex / Cambridge borders + Hybrid – Advanced Surveillance Systems. Exciting growth has led to a requirement for an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to join a leader in the development of advanced radar and surveillance equipment used to protect lives and key assets Worldwide. The FPGA Design Engineer will bring experience of implementing signal processing algorithms with high speed I/O in FPGA as well as proven experience using Xilinx design tools.

Of particular interest is knowledge of radar, sonar or similar sensor systems and an understanding of radar signal processing techniques.

The FPGA Design engineer will take the lead on DSP system design and architecture; will design and verify FPGA code (VHDL or Verilog) using Xilinx design tools as well as designing software for test and verification.

Skills Summary for the FPGA Engineer includes:

  • A Technical Degree or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Development using Xilinx design tools such as Vivado, targeted at Zynq MPSoC or similar.
  • Implementing signal processing algorithms with High-Speed I/O in FPGA.
  • Appreciation of High-Speed digital circuits for real time applications.
  • Design verification by both simulation and hardware testing.
  • Some software design using C/C++, Python or similar.

As a key member of a highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take full responsibility for digital signal processing. Hybrid working is on offer with 3 days in office and 2 WFH.
