Role Overview:As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of pupils in Year 2. Working closely with the class teacher, you will assist with planning, preparing resources, and providing tailored support for students both in groups and on a 1:1 basis. You will also help create a positive, nurturing classroom environment that promotes learning and student well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support for Year 2 students across a range of subjects
  • Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering lesson activities
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and additional learning needs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and track students' progress and provide feedback to the teacher
  • Help with classroom management and maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for working with children and supporting their development
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • A positive, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting students
