This Tax Director job in Manchester will suit someone who can lead a tax function with a commercial mindset, bringing a fresh vision to this experienced team. You’ll be a natural leader, a strong communicator, and have sound technical knowledge.

You’ll be CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified with extensive tax experience in practice, you’ll be confident in strategically driving forward the tax team, motivating staff to deliver service excellence, and championing business growth.

Job Purpose
  • Managing a team of tax accountants at an established and growing firm of accountants.
  • Working with Partners to manage a portfolio of corporate and personal clients in a wide variety of tax specific areas.
  • Reviewing and preparing corporation tax computations and workings.
  • Supporting advisory work with clients.
  • Advising on various tax due diligence exercises.
  • Advising on demergers, acquisitions, growth shares, reconstructions, IHT and other specialist tax issues.
  • International and non-dom tax support and advice.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure clients are benefitting from all business services.
  • Providing training and development for colleagues and team members.
  • Representing the company at networking and business events, identifying new business opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities to introduce and cross-sell company services to new and existing clients.
  • Setting an example as a hands-on leader.

The Successful Applicant
  • Ideally CTA qualified but ACA, ACCA, CA qualification without CTA would be considered.
  • Technically proficient, with tax advisory and planning experience.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with good people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and advisory skills.
  • Sound attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated and highly organised.
