A main contractor is recruiting a Section Engineer for a 20m flood alleviation project in Salisbury. The business is a multi-discipline company with projects upwards of 500m across several divisions including highways, building and rail however they also have a secure flow of work from frameworks for local authorities, National Highways, water companies and the Environment Agency.

The Site Engineer is required for an Environment Agency lead project comprising of widening a river, creating a wetland habitat, culverts and other structures, flood walls, new road bridge, 30m span footbridge and footpaths with street furniture. The project is due to start in June and is programmed for completion before the end of 2024.

Ideally the Site Engineer has experience of setting out in a civil engineering environment for a minimum of 6 months.

Site Engineer duties include:

Setting out with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)

Assist with quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications

Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)

Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement

Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification

Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations

Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a technically challenging projects with an enthusiastic team based on the South Coast.
