Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Salisbury, UK

Contract Type: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of children with a range of special educational needs. Working closely with teachers and other educational professionals, you will provide tailored support to ensure that every child can reach their full potential. From assisting with classroom activities to providing one-on-one support, your dedication and enthusiasm will make a lasting impact on the lives of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to succeed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement personalised learning plans for students with SEN.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers to inform future planning and interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour management strategies and support students in developing essential social and emotional skills.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or special educational needs (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning, SENCO qualification) would be advantageous.
