Nicholas Associates Engineering have an excellent opportunity for a Test Engineer to work with a leading manufacturing client in Scarborough.

As a Test Engineer you will undertake direct test and repair activities within our client's Product Division, inspecting, testing and repairing standby power products to ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality and safety standards.You will implement safe working practices at all times and provide technical support to all required areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

* Undertake direct test and repair activities within product lines.

* Inspect, test and repair standby power products to ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality and safety standards.

* Document test results and product configuration in accordance with company system.

* Ensure that product test and repairs are technically compliant with project, quality & safety specifications.

* Oversee customer Factory Acceptance Tests, liaising with clients in a polite and professional manner.

* Make active contribution to Continuous Improvement initiatives, challenging product design, build and test processes and information workflow.

* Provide technical support to other areas of the business as required.

* Provide training and mentoring to junior members of the test department to develop skills and capability.

* Carry out equipment calibration, PAT testing and maintenance work on test equipment as required.

* Provide support to within the battery test area of the business as required.

* Carry out other related duties as directed by the Lead Test Engineer.

You will have:

Qualifications/Accreditations:

HND / Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)

Health and safety awareness qualification

A full driving license

Experience and Knowledge:

At least three years' experience working in a similar technical role

The ability to read circuit diagrams and fault find to component level

Knowledge of battery chargers, rectifiers, inverters and uninterruptible power supplies

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Able to use MS Office
