Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in Scunthorpe

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our friendly and inclusive school in the Scunthorpe area. This is a vital role supporting students with a range of learning, emotional, and behavioural needs-both inside and outside of the classroom.

Whether you're supporting students 1:1, in small groups, or working closely with a teacher in a busy classroom, your impact will be significant every single day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with their learning in lessons across the curriculum

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils who need additional help

  • Assist with classroom management and contribute to a calm, productive learning environment

  • Help students develop confidence, independence, and resilience

  • Use a range of strategies to support pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)

  • Track and record pupil progress and share feedback with teachers and SENCO

  • Adapt learning materials under teacher direction to suit individual needs

  • Supervise pupils during breaks, lunch, or school activities when required

You Will Need
  • A genuine passion for working with children or young people

  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills

  • The ability to work well as part of a team and take initiative when needed

  • A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude to supporting learning

  • An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

  • (Desirable) Experience working with pupils with SEN, behavioural challenges, or learning difficulties

  • (Desirable) A recognised TA or LSA qualification or a degree in education, psychology, or a related field
