Transport Manager required! My client is a leading independent port operator, serving the sea trade and international shipping routes. They are now looking for a transport manager to join their team, playing a crucial role in managing the fleet and overseeing the drivers.
Transport Manager - Job Responsibilities
- Ensuring the fleet is well maintained and inspected on a daily basis.
- Manage all day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth running.
- Arranging routine maintenance and repairs.
- Managing a team of transport planners, and drivers.
- Monitor transport costs and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure all deliveries are made on-time and efficiently.
- Coordinate with suppliers, and internal teams to meet transportation needs.
- Liaising with customers, dealing with any issues that may arise.
- Ensure all compliance's regarding health and safety regulations are met.
Transport Manager - Requirements
- A proven background in road haulage or the port industry.
- IT skills are required.
- Team leadership skills - having the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Proven experience in a management role within the transport industry.
- Strong customer service skills.
Company Remuneration
- Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
- Salary - 40,000 - 45,000 dependent on experience.
- 25 days holiday
- Pension scheme
