Overview
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Live-in Domestic Couple (Housekeeper and Maintenance/Handyperson) for their picturesque rural property, near Shaftesbury, on the Dorset/Wiltshire border.
The residence serves as a serene weekend retreat for the Principals. They are keen hosts who like to entertain regularly, particularly over the summer.
The couple will be provided with a separate apartment, featuring a spacious open kitchen, and sitting room, a double bedroom and bathroom.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the full-time Live-in Domestic Couple near Salisbury include:
- Daily cleaning of all living spaces, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas
- Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
- Changing bed linens and making beds
- Managing laundry, ironing, and wardrobe organisation
- Planning and preparing meals for the Principals and occasional guests
- Maintaining a well-stocked and organised kitchen
- Conducting routine maintenance tasks for the property
- Coordinating with external contractors for more extensive repairs
- Caring for the Principal’s dogs, including feeding, grooming, and walking
- Running errands, such as grocery shopping or picking up packages
- Ensuring the estate’s vehicles are well-maintained
Candidates must have:
- Experience working in a similar role for a private estate or high-net-worth individual
- Knowledge of fine fabrics, silverware, art, and antiques
- Valid driving licences
- Proficiency in English
- Cooking skills would be a plus
Accommodation
A separate apartment, featuring a spacious open kitchen, and sitting room, a comfortable double bedroom, and bathroom, will be provided.
Hours
Full-time position, with a combined total of 40 hours per week.
Two days off during the midweek.
