Nicholas Howard are looking for an Interim Financial Accountant to support a fast paced Financial Services Client, working within a unitwho provide shared servicesupport to the rest of the group.Key aspects to the role include responsibility for preparing statutory accounts in line withIFRS 10 investment entity company status (IFRS 10 experience not essential), preparation of the associated tax returns andproviding support with the group audit.

The role will be based from home, however you will be expected to work in the Sheffieldoffice once per week.

As the client is an entrepreneurial and high growth business, we are seeking a candidate who notonly has a strong background in accounting and finance but is happy to operate in adynamic environment which may change and evolve with rapid pace as the business takesadvantage of market opportunities which arise. The successful candidate will be able tooperate independently for extended periods of time, and interact confidently with thesubsidiary Heads of Finance.

  • 3+ years experience in similar financial role with in an SME
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, ability to communicate andmanage well at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to work with subsidiary Heads of Finance in remote locations
  • Experience of preparing statutory accounts (Desirable - under IFRS 10) andmanaging group audits
  • Review and sign off of Corporation Tax returns
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise soundjudgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and aresults driven approach to challenges, with a customer service orientation#
  • Strong accounting skills and understanding of IFRS, preferably professionally qualified (CA, CIMA or similar).

Highly regarded

  • Experience in financial/professional services, either banking or non-bankfinancial institutions
  • Modelling and forecasting experience

Specific Responsibilities

  • Management of the group audit and preparation of accounts in line withIFRS 10 investment holding company status
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and working closely with thefinance operations manager to ensure data integrity
  • Preparation of [5] subsidiary accounts, two of which are also required for aprior financial year
  • Preparation of corporate tax returns for the above entities
  • Identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies within the finance processes &systems and designing & implementing robust solutions
  • Input into preparation of Annual Review to be published to shareholders
  • Assistance with any ad hoc finance projects as required
