White Label has partnered with a fantastic Engineering company in Sheffield that is currently seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their rapidly growing team! Our client provides bespoke engineering solutions for large-scale engineering projects, and you could be a part of their success story.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be an integral member of a close-knit team that is responsible for delivering projects from cradle to grave. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your skills and talents, take on new challenges, and make a real impact in the field of engineering.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer
- Attend kick-off and handover meetings to ensure a full understanding of the project specification, deadlines, and client requirements
- Organise and chair design review meetings
- Prepare project-specific health and safety documentation such as Risk Assessments
- Ensure that all documentation and correspondence relevant to the project design is filed (electronically or as a hard copy) and that a Technical File is compiled from the beginning of the project
- The Technical File must comply with CE and CDM requirements as appropriate
- Produce compliant, cost-effective design solutions to customer requirements
- To proficiently check drawings and calculations prior to the issue
- Create and manage Bill of Materials
- Generate detailed drawings for the manufacture of all relevant components, including all required details such as materials, finishes, and welds
- Creation of calculations, scoping, and formal, for project deliverables
- Health and safety objectives must always be satisfied whether activities are taking place in the office, workshop, or on-site
- Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Health, and Safety Plans must always be complied with
- Liaise with Sales, EC&I, Production Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to deliver high-quality integrated deliverables.
Experience required of the Mechanical Design Engineer
- You must have a minimum of 5years of industrial experience
- Experience designing moving/rotating equipment or in a heavy engineering environment would be an advantage
- Autodesk Inventor experience would be advantageous, but my client can consider any 3D CAD experience
Package
- A salary of 38,000 - 45,000 depending on experience
- 37.5 hours with flexibility around core hours
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
