Deep Hole Borer (Machinist)

Elevation Recruitment Group’s skilled shop floor division are currently recruiting the role of a Deep Hole Borer to work for a leading steel forging business in Sheffield.

Hourly rate:

£19.07ph

Working hours:

The role is based on a 3 shift pattern, 37.5h per week:

Mornings 6am – 1pm

Afternoons 1pm – 8pm

Nights 8pm – 6am

Duties of a Deep Hole Borer will include:

• Deep hole boring of various size components to customer requirements.
• General machining (Milling, Turning & Boring). 
• Completing quality documentation to a high standard.
• Slinging and the manoeuvring of large components to facilitate machining operations.
• Working to 6S principles to keep productivity high. 

I am keen to speak with people that have the following skills and experience:

• Apprenticeship trained or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experienced in large scale deep hole boring and either turning or milling.
• Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.
• Crane driving and slinging.
• Full understanding of Health & Safety and the ability to work safely in a heavy engineering environment.
• Ability to understand and follow CNC programs.
