SheffieldUp to £40,000 + Excellent Prospects

CV Screen is recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer for a well-established company within the retail sector. The role is 30 hours a week, full time on site, in Sheffield with regular travel to retail estates and Brighton.

ROLE DETAILSYour role as a Health and Safety Officer is to develop and implement health and safety plans, enforcing policies, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with legal guidelines.

The primary focus is to create a safe and compliant workplace environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

-          Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.

-          Prepare and impose policies to establish a culture of health and safety.

-          Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.

-          Conduct and carry out training sessions for employees on safety protocols.

-          Monitor compliance with safety regulations.

-          Investigate accidents and incidents, providing recommendations for improvement.

-          Communicate safety guidelines to employees.

-          Develop relevant policies to maintain a safe workplace.

REQUIRED SKILLS

The Health & Safety Officer will have the majority of the following experience:

-          Proven experience working as a Health & Safety Manager creating and enforcing safety policies that align with industry standards and regulations

-          Experience leading teams, enforcing safety protocols, and communicating effectively with both employees and other managers.

-          Knowledge of the current HSE (Health and Safety Executive) legislation and staying up to date with future requirements is vital.

-          Proven experience carrying out regular safety audits and identifying potential hazards and assessing safety practices. 

-          Experience recognising potential risks and hazards within the workplace and proactively addressing safety concerns.

SALARY:Basic salary up to £40,000

LOCATIONThe role is 30 hours a week, full time on site, in Sheffield.
