IT Category Manager

• Organisation: Sheffield City Council 
• Contract: Initial 4 months
• Day Rate: £400 - £500 per day (Umbrella / Inside IR35)
• Location: Remote (expected 1/2 day per month in-office working)

Sheffield Council are looking to appoint an experienced IT Category Manager with a background in the Public Sector, ideally within a Council setting. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of IT category procurement, including knowledge of Procurement Regulations and experience with direct awards from frameworks such as Crown Commercial and G-Cloud.

• Sourcing direct award options to maintain continuity with existing suppliers, primarily through call-offs from G-Cloud and Crown Commercial e-marketplace.
• Completing contract documentation and collaborating with clients to agree on requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with Procurement Regulations and frameworks.
• Managing both hardware and software procurement, with a focus on software.

• Proven experience in IT procurement within the Public Sector.
• In-depth knowledge of Procurement Regulations.
• Experience with Crown Commercial and G-Cloud frameworks for direct awards.
• Proficiency in managing both hardware and software procurement, with an emphasis on software.

• Flexibility of remote work with occasional in-office collaboration.
