Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a bespoke manufacturing company looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their facility in Sheffield with immediate effect.

Salary - £34,000
Monday to Thursday 6.15am till4.30pm
Holidays are 25 days plus stats
Vouchers at Christmas

Supporting the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maximising efficiency, minimise unplanned stoppages, and ensuring a safe working environment

Other responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer include;

Carry out work orders by the Planned Preventative Maintenance system
Undertake diagnostic checks in machinery breakdown situations
Identify any spare part requirements, and initiate their procurement through the requisition process, providing technical specifications and manufacturer/supplier details
Undertake safety improvement work raised by the Hazard Risk reporting procedure. Strive to eliminate risk through plant improvement and better working practices.
Diagnosing breakdown problems
Install and commission to recognised standards any new or relocated equipment within the site
Maintaining mechanical tools and equipment including presses, welders, and rivetting
Assist in maintaining the quality control aspects of certification and production program schedules
Interface with and support other departments in developing continual improvement

We are keen to speak with Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with the following:

Apprentice trained with NVQ Level 3/ City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering as a minimum
Time served experience within a manufacturing environment
Team player attitude
Experience in the use of a planned preventive maintenance system
Ideally have worked within a medium to heavy manufacturing environment previously
