Adept Resourcing are proud to be working with one of Sheffield's most reputable manufacturers supplying into MOD, Nuclear, Aerospace, and Oil & Gas who are looking to recruit a Quality Inspector.

The main purpose of the Quality Inspector role will be to carry out all inspection aspects of forged and wrought products.

SHIFTS - 37 hours per week. 3 shift pattern - Mornings, afternoons and nights.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform Inspection in all areas within the company and off-site as and when required.
  • Dimensional Inspection/Mark Out of castings/forgings for, and after machining, to ensure conformance to drawing.
  • Inspect castings/forgings using traditional inspection equipment micrometers, verniers etc.
  • Inspect castings/forgings using Faro Arm’s, Laser scanners and trackers, and any other measuring equipment.
  • Control of Goods in inspection
  • Inspection of machined components and Fabrications and weld inspection.
  • Off-site inspection of products.
  • Control of Documentation to Ensure meets customers specification.
  • Control of internal and External Quality Reports and Non-conforming products.
  • Promoting good working practices within the company such as lean manufacturing, cosh,5s, health and safety.
  • Operate Fork Truck, Pendant Crane etc.
  • Assist in the resolution of NCR’s, CAR’s and customer complaints.
  • Undergo training both internally and externally as necessary to meet requirements

Requirements:

  • Computer literate - Can use Microsoft Word and Excel at a basic level
  • Knowledge of metal processing routes including, casting, forging, heat treatment, fettling, welding, machining
  • Experience of working alongside external visitors’ inspectors & customers
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience of preparing excavation blanks with good level of attention to detail
