This Business Development Manager / Sales Engineer position will see you joinging a very successful, growing sub-contract engineering organisation. They are currently going through an extended period of growth, and through some very exciting investment in new equipment (in excess of £5 million).

They have the opportunity for someone to join them to increase their revenues in the field of laser cutting, plasma cutting, metal bending and forming and possibly also in fabrication.

Although the role is very much home and field based with 3 or 4 days out on the road meeting clients and prospects, they would like someone to be based within a reasonable commuting of Sheffield to interact with the rest of the team and with production.

The role is predominantly biased towards new business and the development of new customers to increase share of spend. You will however also manage some existing customer accounts.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Develop new business opportunities, prospecting potential new customers and also visiting current key customers
  • Present and sell our capabilities in laser cutting and pressing
  • Achieving revenue and margin targets
  • Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and documented to enable accurate quotations to be provided
  • Establish and develop strategic relationships with customers
  • To provide weekly / monthly sales reports as required
  • Maintaint the corporate CRM

ABOUT YOU:

  • A proven track record within sales, new business development and account management
  • Sound engineering knowledge, in particular Laser, Press, sheet metal and fabrication
  • Full UK driving licence with the ability to visit clients, sites, customers and events nationwide
  • Being the face of the business to represent the company in a professional manner
  • A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas

WORKING HOURS:

37.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday 0800-1700 (1500 finish on Friday)
