Geography Teacher plays a vital role in educating students about the world around them. GSL Education is in search of a Geography Teacher to fill a post at one of our client schools in Sheffield.

Role of a Geography Teacher:

  • The teacher designs and delivers lessons aligned with the national curriculum, covering topics such as physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues
  • They create engaging lesson plans that incorporate various teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, group activities, and multimedia presentations.
  • Geography teachers assess students' understanding through quizzes, tests, projects, and essays. They provide constructive feedback to help students improve their knowledge and skills.
  • They develop or select appropriate teaching materials, such as textbooks, maps, charts, and online resources, to support student learning.
  • Organizing and leading field trips to local geographical sites, such as rivers, coastlines, or urban areas, to provide hands-on learning experiences.
  • Geography teachers foster critical thinking skills by encouraging students to analyze geographical data, evaluate different perspectives, and develop informed opinions on global issues.

The successful candidate will:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Specialization or strong background in Geography
  • Enthusiasm for innovative teaching methods and interdisciplinary learning
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
