Empowering Learning are a market leading education recruitment company. We are working in partnership with a large Secondary School in Derbyshire close to Sheffield who are looking to appoint an experienced Drama Teacher on a permanent basis and take lead on the Drama curriculum within the school. The appointed candidate will be responsible for curriculum development within Drama, have responsibility for high achieving GCSE and A-Level groups, and be keen and willing to fully integrate themselves within the school environment, including production of the school Musical.

The job
- The school is looking for someone who is passionate about Drama and Theatre, to provide the very best opportunity for students across the school.
- In this exciting role, you will contribute to the strategic direction of your subject development, to enhance the provision of Drama Teaching practice across the school.
- You will be responsible for the full planning and preparation of your lessons, including the design of a scheme of work and direction for the department.
- To provide outstanding teaching for learning which meets the needs of all students.
- To support the school raising standards of teaching and learning across the department and in monitoring progress towards agreed aims.
- To provide specialist subject expertise to assist departmental staff, as appropriate.
- To support the school in the implementation of agreed whole school policies and initiatives.
The successful candidate will
- Hold a teaching qualification (QTS) Specialising in Secondary Drama.
- Hold a degree or equivalent.
- Have outstanding teaching practice.
- Have experience of implementing a range of strategies to raise student achievement, with evidence of success.
- Contribution to impact on the quality of learning and teaching and curriculum.
- A proven track record of excellent results at both GCSE and A-Level.
- Have experience of high-quality pupil tracking and feedback practices.
