I am currently recruiting for an Accommodation & Support Matching Officer to work on behalf of a leading public sector organisation, within the homeless team.

This is a rewarding role where you are able to help vulnerable people of Sheffield who are homeless.

The role will be fully office based in the Sheffield City Centre.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8.45am to 5.15pm (37 hours) and the hourly pay rate is £12.93 (PAYE).

Duties are varied and will include:

  • Matching homeless people with emergency accommodation such as hotels, hostels, supported accommodation etc
  • Liaising with vulnerable people and showing empath and understanding
  • Keeping in touch with hotels etc on current placements
  • Updating the system with dates and tenant details
  • Working as part of a supportive team

As the successful person in the role you will have the following skills/experience:

  • Be confident speaking on the phone to people who are vulnerable
  • Have good communication skills
  • Possess good IT skills
  • Have excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Be able to pick up new systems quickly
  • Have experience working in a busy, customer focused environment
  • Be confident with dealing with difficult customers
