Senior Sales EngineerShillito Executive Search is proud to be working on a rare opportunity with an internationally recognised and diverse manufacturing company based in Sheffield.

Our client is looking to recruit a Senior Sales Engineer to join their team. This role is ideal for candidates who have previous experience in a Sales Engineer role, have a basic understanding of technical drawings, have experience working with Terms and Conditions, solution selling and negotiation.

The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible for managing key sales accounts, maintaining high-quality relationships with new and existing customers as well as providing sales support in other areas of their growing team.

The Senior Sales Engineer will be required to visit customers on occasion and to attend various expos across the country to further understand the current market and generate leads.

Senior Sales Engineer Salary and Benefits:Salary: £45,000 to £50,000

Senior Sales Engineer duties, responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Identification of new opportunities for products and services
  • Being accountable for customer service, maintenance and growth of revenue and margins
  • Working with managers to help formulate marketing plans
  • Arrange face to face visits, including attending trade shows and exhibitions
  • Preparation of data for sales reports, forecasts and key performance indicators
  • Preparation of costings and price analysis and ensuring processes are maintained for service agreements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Engineering, materials or science-based background
  • NVQ level 3/ONC/HNC/HND in engineering
  • Professional sales qualification and training or equivalent experience
  • Driving licence to allow travel between businesses
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Objective setting and time management
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and computer competency
  • 5+ years’ experience in a technical sales role, preferably in specialist manufacturing
  • High level understanding of technical specifications and tender documentation
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen with proven strong negotiation skills
  • Needs-fulfilling and/or consultative sales experience
  • Contracts / SLA / T&Cs
