Job Role: SEMH Tutor
Location: Sheffield
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £25 – £40 per hour
Contract Type: Full-Time
Are you looking for a career where you can work with students who have significant learning difficulties? If so, GSL Education can help. GSL Education is actively recruiting a SEMH Tutor to work at a client school located in Sheffield starting immediately.
SEMH Tutor Responsibilities:
- The ability to identify students going into crisis mode and follow/be familiar with the Positive Behaviour Support System (PBS).
- Provide 1:1 support for a young student and also be able to support small groups if necessary with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Be able to deliver in-class activities, promote independent learning where possible, and encourage appropriate social skills.
- Follow Education Health Care Plans to ensure outcomes are met.
- Previous involvement in a Wellbeing and Mind Team (WIMT) as an added advantage.
- Previous working experience with Educational Psychology services, Paediatricians, CAMHS or Therapist.
- Must have a UK QTS; ECTs and NQTs are also welcome to apply.
- An Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
SEMH Tutor Responsibilities:
- Support on a one to one and small group basis.
- Follow Education Health Care Plans to ensure outcomes are met.
- Assist in engaging lessons including outdoor education and creative learning.
- Support young people social interaction.
- Be able to work collaboratively with staff members and outside agencies, such as counsellors and mental health professionals
- Develop self-esteem, confidence, and emotional wellbeing resilience in students to ensure regular attendance in school and active participation in learning and social opportunities.
