Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Food Technology Teacher to join our dynamic team at Secondary School in Sheffield. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of Food Technology curriculum, fostering students' passion for culinary arts and nutrition.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons that align with the national curriculum standards.
Teach students practical culinary skills, food hygiene, nutrition principles, and food science concepts.
Plan and oversee practical cooking sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
Assess student progress through coursework, projects, and practical assessments.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Food Technology across the curriculum and promote cross-disciplinary learning.
Organize and supervise extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs or culinary competitions.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Hospitality Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
Experience teaching Food Technology or related subjects at KS3/KS4
Proficiency in food preparation techniques, kitchen safety procedures, and culinary education methodologies.
Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and industry standards.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
