Art Teacher

GSL Education are looking for an experienced Art Teacher within a secondary school in the North of Birmingham particularly in Sutton Coldfield, West Bromwich and Great Barr area. The school is looking for an experienced and highly capable Art Teacher who can join their dedicated and talented Art department immediately. The role is full time from April 2024 on a long term basis.

5 days a week – Monday to Friday (7.45am – 3.30pm)

The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning. You will be able to demonstrate experience of achieving positive outcomes for students, as well as being passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers.

Experience & Requirements:

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Previous experience teaching art to students of various age groups preferred
  • Proficient in a variety of art mediums and techniques
  • Strong knowledge of art history and different artistic styles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their artistic abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement art session plans for students for Key Stage 3 & 4 students.
  • Teach fundamental art techniques, including drawing, painting, and sculpture
  • Provide guidance and feedback to students to help them improve their artistic skills
  • Encourage creativity and self-expression in students' artwork
  • Plan and organize art exhibitions or showcases to display students' work
  • Collaborate with artists and art teachers to integrate art into the curriculum
  • Maintain a safe and organized art classroom environment.
