Assist Tunnel Shift Managers in managing safety, supervising shift works, and overseeing SCL/TBM/Secondary Lining tunnel construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

~Ensure safety compliance and act as Emergency Person in Charge during shifts.
~Supervise SCL/TBM/Secondary Lining works on a shift basis (Days, Backs, Nights).
~Manage weekly programmes and materials, plant, and equipment.
~Plan and program works, ensuring alignment control and adherence to specifications.
~Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including NNB Tunnel Delivery Managers and H&S Advisors.
~Attend RESS Meetings to discuss activities and actions.
~Maintain accurate documentation including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Inspection Plans.
~Input construction data into the Tunnel Information Management/VMT system.

Requirements:

~Civil Engineering or Mining qualification to HNC/Degree level.
~Relevant professional tunnelling experience.
~Valid CSCS card, TSTS, C&G Tunnel Entry & Emergency Procedures, SMSTS/IOSH certifications.
~Full experience in SCL/TBM/Secondary Lining works and face logging to BS 5930.
~Ability to manage shift engineers and operatives.
~Thorough knowledge of safety legislation, environmental practices, and construction procedures.
~Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
~Desire for continuous innovation and development.
