Graduate Accountant Overview

Bookkeeping:

Assist in maintaining accurate financial records for clients, including recording transactions, reconciling bank accounts, and preparing trial balances.

Input and categorize financial data into accounting software, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.

Accounts Preparation:

Support in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for a variety of clients.

Assist in analysing financial data and preparing supporting schedules for accounts preparation.

Tax Compliance:

Assist in the preparation of tax computations and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.

Provide support in identifying tax planning opportunities and preparing tax planning strategies for clients.

Client Communication:

Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and tax compliance.

Assist in preparing client correspondence and reports, ensuring accuracy and professionalism in communication.

Professional Development:

Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills in bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and tax compliance.

Stay informed about changes in accounting and tax laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and effectiveness in job responsibilities.

Graduate Accountant Requirements
  • Commutable to the office
  • Ambitious
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Some form of accounting related degree, qualifying with a First is ideal. 2:1 is a minimum
  • A strong personality and willingness to learn is most important
