The Company

Our client are part of a world leading test and inspection organisation with some 25,000 strong global presence.   The business provides a wide range of bespoke and technical mechanical tests for customers across the automotive, aerospace, medical and many other sectors.

Due to expansion and investment the business is growing their team at their purpose built testing facility in Northamptonshire.   The company are looking for an Engineering Test Supervisor with immediate effect, your role will be to ensure the engineers and technicians running tests have all the support and supervision they need to complete tests safely and to the correct standards.

The Role

The role of Engineering Test Supervisor will be monitoring progress across multiple mechanical and bespoke tests happening in the lab on a day to day basis.  You will be supervising tests being carried out during the morning shift of 6am to 2pm.  You will ensure the engineers and technicians on site have all the information and support they need as well as supporting with any technical problem solving required whilst tests are in progress.

  • Ensuring tests on site are being carried out to correct standards and progressing as per plan.
  • Supporting the ongoing tests with any technical problems and helping resolve them.
  • Liaising with customer during testing to report testing progress
  • Ensure materials are ready in advance for testing.
  • Supporting with the set up of tests when required.
  • Supporting the test engineer with information required for test reports.
  • Reporting on any issues with test equipment and any requirements for acquisition of new equipment for testing.
  • Ensuring tests are being carried out to the correct H&S procedures.

The Candidate

For this Engineering Test Supervisor role the client is looking for a strong communicator who can give direction as well listen well to others.  

In terms of technical experience, the client is looking for:

  • Someone with exposure to mechanical engineering from either a test, production engineering, development or design background.
  • A supporting mechanical engineering qualification of HNC or above
  • Someone with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working a morning shift pattern of 6am to 2pm
