Day to Day of the Role:- Teach history to pupils aged 11-18, adhering to the national curriculum and preparing them for GCSE and A-level exams.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cover a range of historical topics and periods, enhancing pupils’ knowledge, skills, and understanding.
- Utilise diverse teaching methods and resources, including textbooks, documentaries, artefacts, field trips, and online platforms.
- Assess and monitor pupils’ progress, providing regular feedback and support.
- Contribute to the development of the history department and engage in cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
- Recognised teaching qualification and QTS, with a degree in history or a related subject.
- Thorough knowledge of the history curriculum and current educational trends.
- Experience teaching history at the secondary level and preparing pupils for GCSE and A-level exams.
- Ability to use historical sources and evidence effectively and critically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering positive relationships with pupils, staff, and external partners.
- Strong organisational and classroom management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
