The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, and flexible HLTA to coordinate aspects of our SEND provision and support an existing EHCP pupil with visual impairment in Year 8.  TA’s also support the wider SEND cohort

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Be responsible for coordinating and providing support to SEND pupils inside and outside the classroom and will work within our small but dynamic SEND team
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or those requiring additional help.
  • Support students in their learning and help them to stay focused and motivated.
  • Prepare learning materials and resources as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

About You:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning.
