Client Summary:

Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.

Position Summary

The role is carrying out Electrical and Mechanical safety checks and maintenance. You will be expected to complete routine maintenance from written work instruction, including Mechanical / Electrical Examinations on Rolling Stock. You will also specifically work on modifications and heavy component changes.
This is a Safety Critical position and is a requirement against the Service Agreement (SA). This position is the key focal point for the safe and reliable running of the fleet.

The position is based on a busy maintenance depot and all applicants would be expected to complete the following:

* Electrical safety checks and isolations.
* Electrical tests utilising Megger / Fluke meter.
* Software uploads and diagnostics
* Remove large components such as axle boxes.
* Important safety checks.
* Work from written instruction (VMI).
* Work from electrical / mechanical engineering drawings, working to specific measurements.
* Replacing electrical / mechanical components to correspond to engineering drawings.
* Routine fleet checks ensuring that the Fleet are operated safely.
* Work flexibly with a maintenance team.
* Work to high HSE standards.
* Ability to read schematics.

Person Profile/Experience:

No previous rail experience required as we will consider applicants that have worked on any of the following, but you must have experience of working both electrically (at High Voltage) and mechanically.

Industries / backgrounds considered: Ex Forces, RAF, REME, Army, Navy, Marine, Avionics, Rolling Stock, Commercial/Industrial Electrics, Defence, Plant Engineering, SPM, HVAC, Maintenance Engineer, Power Plants, and Process Engineering
Mechanical Engineer, Mechanic, Avionic Technician, Aircraft Engineer, Marine Engineer, Maintenance Fitter, Electrician (high voltage), Plant Engineer, Production Plant Engineer, and Breakdown Engineer
