GSL Education are currently seeking 2x qualified SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teachers who have experience working with SEN children, particularly those with challenging behavior, ADHD, Autism (ASD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Disability (PMLD). These roles are based in Oldbury or Smethwick, West Midlands, and offer an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH requirements.
  • Provide a supportive and nurturing learning environment to promote positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to support students in managing their social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
  • Collaborate effectively with SENCOs, support staff, and external agencies to ensure the holistic development of students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching approaches as necessary to meet their evolving needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant experience in SEMH education.
  • Proven experience working with SEN children, particularly those with challenging behavior and additional needs.
  • Sound knowledge of SEMH strategies, interventions, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
