The Job

We are currently searching for a new colleague to become part of the expanding Arthrex team. This position will be based from our Solihull site and will provide legal and compliance support for the UK business and West EMEA region (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Italy).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As part of the EMEA Legal and Compliance Team, reporting to the Legal and Compliance Manager – EMEA West, you will: 
  • Support the implementation of governance framework and ensure alignment between legal/compliance and business strategies.
  • Proactively identify areas for business process enhancements and of non-compliance with legal requirements regulatory guidelines, company policies, and/or written standards.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on regional legal and compliance issues.
  • Conduct thorough and timely reviews and analysis of various company records, functions and processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of compliance strategies to ensure the company’s values and ethical standards; providing in-person training where appropriate.
  • Provide advice and interpretation of the company's code of conduct, relevant laws and regulations, compliance policies, relevant health industry regulations, and industry codes.
  • Support the execution and remediation of Compliance Audits within the region.

Education and Professional Experience:

  • Legal degree from a UK based university (e.g. Bachelor or Masters) and/or other certified route of qualification.
  • 2 to 3 years of legal and/or compliance experience, ideally within the healthcare sector.
  • Fluent English speaker, other languages in addition would be advantageous.
  • Experience with the interpretation and application of compliance-related laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of compliance-related laws and regulations, includingthose related to anti-corruption.

General requirements:

  • Organised with a methodical approach to work.
  • Excellent communication and prioritisation skills.
  • Familiarity of working within a matrix reporting structure/ environment (advantageous).
  • Sound judgement, ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
  • Ability to effectively challenge and support, with excellent interpersonal skills to successfully build working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Confidence to make decisions as and when required.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with stakeholders.

Working Arrangements:

Please note that this is a full-time position (40 hours per week) working hours of 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required. Hybrid working arrangement available.

Travel activity:

This role involves some occasional business travel between the two Arthrex sites (Sheffield and Solihull), and some European travel as and when required.

Compensation and benefits:

Competitive salary based on level of experience. 25 days annual leave plus 8 Bank Holidays (pro rata), Contributory Pension scheme, medical cash back plan, Group income protection and Life Assurance.
