Tempest Education are working with a primary school in the South Ockendonarea who are looking for a qualified primary teacher Year 2 who can engage, motivate, and inspire students.

This primary school are a two-form entry primary school in South Ockendon. The school expect high standards of behaviour and academic effort and achievement from all their pupils. In close partnership with parents, the school aim to provide a safe, caring environment, where each child's achievements will be valued and rewarded.

You will need to provide an inclusive, nurturing, healthy and safe community, respecting other staff and the school environment. Form strong home/school partnerships so parents and carers can be active in their children's learning.

The primary teacher year 2 role is a temp to perm position for a teacher looking for a fixed working week, 5 days a week, full time. The role could become permanent for the right candidate.

This role is also suitable for ECT's and support with induction from September 2024.

If you believe you are the ideal primary teacher year 2 you will have:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or recognised teaching qualification.
  • A valid DBS and successful vetting/safeguarding checks.
  • UK classroom experience with a calm, kind, and nurturing approach.
  • Experience as an ECT teacher with supply experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading year 2 classroom lessons.
  • Following and implementing the school policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Following the school curriculum at key stage 1 level.
  • Supporting the assessment and tracking of student progress, providing feedback to the Head of department.
