We are seeking a dedicated and professional civil enforcement officer to join our team on a contract basis in South Shields. This role is essential in ensuring that parking restrictions are adhered to, maintaining smooth traffic flow, and enhancing road safety in the area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrolling designated areas in South Shields to monitor parking activities.
  • Issuing Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles found in contravention of parking regulations.
  • Check for parking articles such as permits, blue badges etc.
  • Providing a visible presence to deter illegal parking.
  • Assisting the public with parking-related enquiries in a polite and informative manner.
  • Accurately recording and documenting enforcement activities.
  • Reporting any issues or hazards to the appropriate authorities.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid DBS.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • A calm and professional manner, especially in potentially confrontational situations.
  • Good level of physical fitness to walk and patrol for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of local parking regulations and enforcement procedures is an advantage.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
