Zenith People are working with our client who are looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join them on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals with a commitment to excellence.

Job Description:

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in implementing effective health and safety practices within their organizations. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance, conducting assessments, and delivering training programs to ensure compliance within relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Health and Safety Assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments of client workplaces to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate control measures.
  2. Develop Health and Safety Policies and Procedures: Collaborate with clients to develop and review health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols tailored to their specific needs and industry requirements.
  3. Provide Expert Guidance: Offer expert advice and guidance to clients on health and safety best practices, legislative requirements, and industry standards to promote a culture of safety within their organizations.
  4. Deliver Training Programs: Design and deliver engaging training programs and workshops for employees and management teams on topics such as risk management, hazard identification, and emergency procedures.
  5. Monitor Compliance: Monitor and evaluate client compliance with health and safety regulations and standards, conducting regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  6. Investigate Incidents: Lead investigations into health and safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  7. Stay Updated: Keep abreast of developments in health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices, and ensure clients are informed of any changes that may affect their operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a health and safety advisory role, preferably within a consultancy environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients at all levels.
  • Certified Health and Safety Professional (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent) accreditation preferred.
  • Experience in delivering training programs and conducting risk assessments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
