Description
The key responsibilities for the Customs and Logistics Officer role are:

Manage all import and export customs documentation in compliance with UK and international regulations

Liaise with freight forwarders, HMRC, and customs brokers to ensure smooth and timely shipments

Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve any delays or customs issues
-
Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and related documentation

Coordinate with internal teams including sales, warehouse, and finance to align on logistics requirements

Ensure compliance with Incoterms and duty/tax regulations

Prepare and submit Intrastat and other regulatory reports

Support audits and provide customs data when required

Keep up to date with changes in customs legislation and apply best practices accordingly
Profile
The successful candidate for the Customs and Logistics Officer role is someone with the following:

Proven experience in a similar customs or logistics coordination role

In-depth knowledge of UK customs procedures, import/export documentation, and Incoterms

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Confident communicator, able to liaise with internal stakeholders and external authorities

Proficiency with logistics systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Familiarity with freight terms, customs declarations, and international shipping requirements

Ability to work independently and solve problems under time pressure
