Live-In Personal Support Assistant for University Student (Film & TV Studies)
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a 22-year-old student of Post Production for Film & Television at Southampton University. They are looking for a like-minded person to join their care team and assist them in daily living whilst studying. Join their team of PAs who provide their personal care and independent living support. This is a great opportunity to help make a positive impact on a young adult’s life.
Start: ASAP
Rota: Live in -7 Days on / 7 Days off
Location: Southampton Solent University (During term time)
Family home in Weston Super Mare (During holidays)
Pay: £180 p/d = £1,260 p/w
Free accommodation whilst on shift
Holidays: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata
A Full UK Driving licence is essential for this position to drive our client's vehicle

About our Client
Our client has just completed their 2nd year studying Post Production for Film & Television at Southampton Solent University.
Our client has Friedreich’s Ataxia, which mainly affects his balance and mobility but also makes it challenging for him to do day-to-day tasks. He uses a mobility scooter to travel. He also has a manual wheelchair for less accessible areas.
He also would like his PA to support him with organising his schedule and supporting his personal fitness plan (Supporting him with his exercises and accompanying him to the gym)
He is looking for a PA who can assist him with his university experience, supporting him to attend events, socialising with his friends and supporting him to lead an independent life!

I’m always falling over, people think its because I am disabled, but I just fall for the girls I like, I guess I just took falling for someone too literally!

I like socializing and making friends and I want a PA who is more like a friend who doesn’t mind helping me out a lot and not getting frustrated with me that much, but I also want someone who doesn’t need explicit instructions 24/7.”
Qualifications and Requirements:
-A full and clean UK driving license (Essential)
-Confident driver as you will be expected to drive the client’s vehicle in the future
-Excellent sense of humour and ability to not take life too seriously (Essential)
-Physical fitness, patience, and a caring nature
-Strong communication and listening skills
-Mature and responsible attitude
-Fluent in English
-Clean and tidy appearance
