An outstanding school in Southampton is seeking a talented and ambitious Permanent Teacher of Geography to join our dedicated Geography Department, with a primary focus on delivering and developing our A-Level Geography provision. This role offers an exciting opportunity to mentor and guide our Sixth Form students through the complexities of our changing world, with some potential involvement at KS4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver well-structured and inspiring Geography lessons primarily to A-Level students, encompassing contemporary geographical issues and debates.
- Nurture students' critical thinking, analytical skills, and fieldwork abilities within the discipline of Geography.
- Contribute significantly to the development, review, and enhancement of the A-Level Geography curriculum and resources, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies and current research.
- Monitor student progress closely at A-Level, providing effective academic and pastoral support, including guidance for university applications in geography and related fields.
- Collaborate effectively with a supportive team within the Geography Department, contributing to a positive and high-achieving learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A relevant degree in Geography or a related field.
- Significant experience teaching Geography at A-Level is essential; experience teaching GCSE Geography is beneficial.
- A deep understanding of the assessment requirements and curriculum content for A-Level Geography.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring and supporting Sixth Form students.
