Rutherford Briant have recently partnered with a fast-growing, acquisitional business based in Southend who are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant for their dynamic finance team. Our client is ideally looking to bring on-board an AAT studying/qualified professional with month-end exposure to work alongside their Financial Controller.
They are offering a competitive salary of £40,000, study support, a clear route for progression, as well as a wide range of competitive benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Daily bookkeeping activities including accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations.
- Involved in high-volume invoice processing and raising.
- Quarterly VAT returns.
- Assisting with management accounts & month-end preparation.
- Overseeing the Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable departments.
- Analysing financial statements.
- Preparing the weekly payment runs & employee expenses.
Requirements:
- AAT qualified / actively studying.
- 3+ years of experience as an Accounts Assistant (ideal).
- Previous bookkeeping and month-end exposure.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Strong willingness to learn.
