Reed are working with a Southend-based Homeless Charity who are looking for a dedicated Housing Project Worker to join their Floating Support Service team.
This role is crucial in providing a dynamic and empowering tenancy sustainment service to vulnerable adults across various sites in the town.
The ideal candidate will be part of a mixed team based from their integrated homelessness hub and will work towards enabling service users to live independently.
Housing Project Worker
- Location: Southend on Sea
- Salary: £26,054 per annum rising to £28,357
- Full-time, 37hrs per week across various shift patterns covering days, evening and weekends
Day to Day of the role:
- Produce comprehensive and high-quality risk assessments and management plans for clients.
- Minimise risks to clients by identifying, reporting, and following up on any safeguarding concerns.
- Provide a comprehensive handover of risks to other professionals involved with cases.
- Arrange and carry out formal case reviews, ensuring they are client-led and predominantly take place in the community.
- Translate assessed needs into SMART action plans in partnership with the client.
- Provide intensive housing management to residents, ensuring health & safety checks are carried out in accordance with policies.
- Assist residents in retaining accommodation, preventing evictions, and supporting those ready to move on.
- Manage timely housing benefit claims and service charge collection.
- Maintain high-quality data in Salesforce and ensure all recording processes are followed accurately.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience and understanding of working with mental/physical ill health, history of rough sleeping, challenging behaviour, or current substance use.
- Good understanding of safeguarding issues and comprehensive risk assessment skills.
- Ability to manage high volumes of written work within set timescales while maintaining quality.
- Competence in working within a strength and recovery-based model to engage and motivate clients.
- Self-directed work ethic with minimal need for daily direction.
- Proficient computer skills for data input, email communication, and document creation.
- Numeracy skills for tasks such as budgeting with clients and understanding rent arrears.
- Willingness to work a duty rota covering evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
