If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a KS3 & KS4 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students at Key Stages 3 and 4, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and group support to students with SEND, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and are able to achieve their full potential.
  • Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Demonstrating excellent use of initiative in supporting the individual needs of students.
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCo, and other professionals to create personalised learning plans for students.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEND is essential.
  • A good sense of humour and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent use of initiative in adapting support strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
  • A supportive and understanding approach to working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying learning styles.
