The Recruitment Co are looking for Logistics Operatives, or those with potential to learn, to join a busy flower factory in the Holbeach area of Spalding.

This is a temporary to permanent position with a one-week trial and a further 11 week's working for us, at the end of week 12 you will be given a direct contract.

You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment receiving - processing - picking and despatching incoming and outgoing stock and or orders.

Responsibilities

  • Organising incoming and outgoing products.
  • Storage of incoming and outgoing products in the designated location in the cooler.
  • Maintain accurate stock rotation of products.
  • Picking the products in accordance with the pick list/dispatch notes. Placing the picked products with the required forms ready for further processing.
  • Quality checking during picking and communicate quality deviations with Manager, Supervisors or planners.
  • Effective product handling to prevent damage throughout the picking process.
  • Awareness of deviations in stock levels; overstocks and shortages and discuss with the Manager, Supervisors or planner.
  • Stock counting when required.
  • Discuss maintenance problems with the relevant personnel.
  • Ensure the cooler is organised and housekeeping standards are maintained as per the Company policy.
  • Forklift desirable but not essential.
  • Be expected where possible to cover extra shifts.
  • Entering and recording intake/dispatch notes and orders, completing and filing applicable paperwork correctly in a timely manner.
  • Comply with Company rules and regulations as detailed within the Company handbook
  • Any other tasks required by the supervisor and/or managers, in line with the level of scope of the position.

Knowledge and Skills:

Essential skills

  • Company procedures and work methods.
  • Level English: intermediary.
  • Policies as detailed within the Colleague handbook.
  • Customer specifications and requirements.
  • Quality requirements.

Desirable skills

  • Electric wheels and/or forklift license.
  • FIFO: First in First out order pick and dispatch by date code procedure
  • Product Knowledge - Varieties of flowers, greenery, finished goods and other floral products.
  • English Level- Intermediate

Other:

  • The business needs of the Company vary on an ongoing basis, and overtime may be required at short notice
  • Our busy/peak periods will require substantial overtime including extra working days.
  • To undertake other tasks as required from time to time as assigned by Shift Leader/Production Manager.
  • Lead by Example and challenge everything that is not correct and improve on it.

Shift as a Logistics Operative:

8am - 8pm on a continental shift pattern.

£12.44 per hour and £15.55 per hour overtime after 42.50 hrs per week.
