We are looking to recruit a Sales Engineer to join a specialist UK supplier of Safety Pipework, Transfer Pumps and Breather Valves / Instrumentation for use on storage tank sites. Apart from design responsibilities there is an element of project engineering to the position. This is a permanent role and based in the Spennymoor area.

Act as a key liaison between Customers, Strategic Partners/Suppliers and the Company, seeking out and building new business opportunities and key accounts, with appropriate product, pricing and technical assistance, ensuring that all Client and Company expectations are managed and met across the sales development and order acquisition process.

Primarily dealing with construction companies that are constructing large infrastructure projects, that require them to have back up power - such as hospitals, data centres, high rise buildings etc.

Key responsibilities :

  • Develop new customers/key accounts and extend client base, as well as growing profitable business from existing customers.
  • Actively seek new markets and potential for additional products/services. Seek out synergies with and opportunities for other aspects of Group offering/products/services.
  • Establish, build and maintain strong customer relationships, leveraging regular phone, email and face to face contact.
  • Develop a long term customer development strategy/plan for each key account, product and industry area, including activity planning, marketing campaigns, forecasting, market analysis, visits, exhibitions etc. Implement and maintain the plans accordingly, with assistance where required.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate Sales/Business Development related Key Performance Indicators, to assist with business performance monitoring and market analysis.
  • Maintain a professional approach to all phone calls, emails and customer facing communications, at all times.

  • Prior demonstrable experience of generating/growing sales and finding new customers/opportunities.

The sales engineer with be based in Spennymoor with travel about 2 -3 time a month to new and existing customers.
