Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Are you a creative problem-solver with a passion for continuous improvement and lean manufacturing? Do you enjoy taking ideas from concept to production?

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join a global technology company best known for designing high quality products used in military, law enforcement and rescue applications.

This is a brand new position on this site giving you the opportunity to make the role your own and create a real impact!

Key Tasks:

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products
  • Drive the seamless transition of new products from prototype to full-scale manufacturing
  • Partner with New Product Development (NPD) to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) during development
  • Create and maintain SAP routings to accurately reflect production processes and ensure efficient ERP integration
  • Optimise production workflows, layouts and equipment usage to reduce waste and improve throughput
  • Production jig and fixture design for ease of manufacturability within production
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOP's)
  • Investigate/source modern and innovative materials and equipment
  • Analyse costs and deliver solutions that improve both performance and profitability

Requirements:

  • Qualified in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree)
  • Min 7+ years of experience in a similar role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on approach and a deep understanding of production processes and industrial equipment
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience of Jig & Fixture design and DFMEA process
  • Strong communicator and team player, capable of leading cross-functional projects
  • UK Driving License and valid passport for occasional travel between UK & U/S
